Seeing as I have like, four watchers who probably don't even read journals ( i know i often don't) i am going to rant here about somehting that has bothered me for forever, concerning people who are so obsessed with books, that they cna't bear to see them turned into other forms of art.
From books, paper-cutters can create AMAZING art, such as

[link]and
[link]i think it is an incredible form of art, but some people just get so PSYCHO about the fact that someone mutilated a book. Does that look mutilated? i prefer re-purposing.
Many of these artists do their absolute best to use non-one of a kind books and what i find some serious readers don't understand is that these guys love books just as much as they do, so when a book becomes old, or damaged, or say, they find another one, they will use it to make something new and just as beautiful.
So when i find someone going "i can't believe you did that to a book. what is wrong with you i hope you HATED that book"
its like
"calm down sir. it was probably going to be thrown out, now it is beautiful again
